Possible Batman Movie Ideas

As promised here are my ideas for a new Batman movie.

1) Knightfall.  This would be an adaptation of the comic story line of the same title.  You can read about it here on wikipedia.  Basically as we saw in this movie, Batman has his limits.  He has all of those scars on his back and is obviously taking a beating.  As the villains get stronger, so must he, but this takes a toll on his body.  Introducing Venom, a body enhancing drug that makes Batman stronger.  As we see Bruce Wane struggle with an addiction 10-15 times cooler than Tony Starks alcoholism, we are introduced to Bane.  This is not the Bane of Batman and Robin but rather a cunning and powerful villain that has plan to take down Bruce Wane.  Throughout the movie we will see Batman face many small time criminals at once, zipping around the city.

At the same time, we find out that Two-Face is still alive.  He has finished killing all of those responsible for the death of Rachel but continues to seek revenge.  He passes the line of passionate idealist gone wrong and begins to enjoy flipping the coin.  He presents another side to the addiction story line as he has let revenge take over his character and lost control as well.

2) Darkest Knight. This would not be related to the comic arch of the same name.  Instead in this one we are introduced to the craziest guy in the Batman universe, the Riddler.  This movie would divert back to Batman’s detective and crime solving side.  The Riddler would be this twisted guy that enjoyed setting up elaborate circumstances with clues in order to torture Batman.  I don’t really know if it would work, as a lot of the Joker’s character did things like this.  I think the best way to do it would be to not have the Riddler actually appear until near the end of the movie.  This seems a little crazy, and we would want to see a villain, but it might work.

At first it could be presented as if there were numerous mass murderes in the city.  Each with their own style of killing.  As the Police try to solve the clues and find the killers, Batman turns to a man for help.  An autistic genius from Arkham that has the ability to pick up patterns.  In the final twist we find out that guy is the Riddler.  I know everyone would see this from a mile away, and that’s why the real twist is at the end when we find out that there was in fact no Riddler and the whole time it was the Joker pulling strings from behind bars that the real Riddler is in fact the Mayor guy with the eyelashes, or some new guy that they put in a Police or detective role.

3) Batman femme fatale.  In this story, we are introduced to Harley Quinn, a psychiatrist at Arkham who treats the Joker after he is brought in.  She falls in love with his madness but he will have nothing to do with it.  This presumably happens before the movie, because by the time the movie starts, the Joker is elsewhere or locked up in solitary.  At the same time we are introduced to a lovely young prostitute named Selina Kyle.  She takes to a life of crime dressed in skimpy outfits and armed with her cat o’ nine tails, utilizing gymnastics that she picked up somewhere along the line.  Her crimes involve other prostitutes, much like what we saw in Sin City.  On the other side of the city is a grad student of Biology named Pamela Lillian Isley who is an advocate of Greenpeace or some similar organization.  She is upset by pollution caused by Wane’s company and has figured out a way to seek revenge.  Armed with a potent chemical derived from a plant that she was conveniently studying, she can put the city to sleep, but needs a way to spread it.

The three girls team up.  Ivy has the poison, Catwoman has the presence on the street and Harley Quinn has the brilliance to tie it all together and distract the Batman as they go to work.  I can see the teaser posters now.  There is no way that having 3 hot female villains, Batman and Nolan in one movie will not be awesome.

4) Bruce Wane: Batman.  This version deals with the idea of dual identities.  For it, we are introduced to Catwoman, a sly thief and socialite, in addition we have Two-Face.  He is back, because he didn’t die (the coin is a metaphor).  As Batman runs from the law, Catwoman runs from the law, and Two-Face tries to be the law.  In face Dent finds out that Bruce Wane is Batman and blames him for Rachels death.  Meanwhile Catwoman is having a ball with Batman.  She has to be this thief that doesn’t care about batman or the Police because she knows how good she is.  She just toys around with him and sets him up in places that the Police are coming and then they race on foot a lot.  Batman would need a new suit, a faster one so he could run.  There would be a lot of gymnastics and graceful fighting.  Meanwhile Two-Face is going insane and destroying the underbelly of Gotham by night, and building it back up by day.  He has split personalities you see.

By the end, Catwoman is caught, Dent discovers that he is his own enemy and kills himself and Batman thinks, oh man which one of those other good ideas Greg had will I make into my next movie.

So that’s what I think.  Maybe they could work, and if not they were fun to write.  I bet you have some good ideas though, leave a comment and let me know about them.

  2. all they need is Arnold Schwarzenegger back, you can’t question the Governator

I was in line opening night and was doing some trivia for a video I’m making. I asked a guy dressed as Robin what his favorite Batman movie was and he replied “everybody chill..” in his best Arnold voice.

Look for that video soon. I think I’ll post it on youtube and link from a new blog entry.

  4. What about John Malkovich as the Riddler? Does anyone else think he would be great!

  5. I hope to see the penguin next …

  6. Larry P Says:

Good posts on possible villains and plotlines in a third Nolan Bat film.
The Penguin popped up in early rumors about who the villains would be in TDK. The Nolan-adapted concept was supposedly that he was a British arms dealer (I also seem to recall Philip Seymour Hoffman and Bob Hoskins as actors considered for the role). This could continue the “Escalation” idea.
Or, you could go with the “Batman:Fugitive” plot and bring in heavy-duty bounty hunter types like Slade/Deathstroke (Deadshot already appeared in the anime), Bane, or the Riddler (who figures out that Bruce is Bats).

  7. that ’s very intersting!

  8. they should use the penguin and have killer croc has one of his henchmen since they both live in the sewers and are both outcasts

  9. Double J Says:

    NEW PLOT
Joker is still interested in who batman really is and begins receiving clues while he’s in arkham. Soon the Joker is free and begins to hunt down the maker of these clues, soon the clues become frustrating riddles. The Riddler is in fact Mr. Reese, the only man outside of Batman’s loop that knows his identity (and he so happens to be a red-head). The Riddler continues his quest to blackmail Bruce Wayne all while baiting the Joker in. Two-face survived his fall, but is kept behind bars, until the Joker once again unleashes him to avenge Rachel’s death. Knowing Batman survived the gunshot in TDK, he seeks to finish what he started.

This would prove to be a confusing plot, but would hold to be a great twist to the series.

I think Two-Face should come back, and then also the riddler. But they can only bring back the riddler….if jim carrey plays him again. I would love to see that.

  11. The most obvious plot is probably still the best one. Two-face is alive and locked up in Arkham with Batman on the run for Two-faces crimes, then later on two-face escapes and starts killing again and the people of Gotham find out the truth and Batman returns to sort him out.

Other ideas could be that Batman meets Catwoman on the run, every film needs a love interest and she’s the obvious choice.
Mr.Reese is actually Robin, he knows Batman’s identity and with Lucious Fox gone he could be a mentor/advisor rather than a sidekick.

An idea for the Joker could be that, in TDK he acknowledged that he can’t corrupt Batman and he won’t kill him, maybe the fact Gotham has turned against Batman will be enough for him so he moves on to somewhere else but is still pulling the strings. You could see him through videos or whatever, so you could CGI Heath and get a good voice impersonator.

  12. ANDREW SOSA Says:

the movie should take place some time after the dark knight and show how BAD gotham has become, do to what has hapened in the dark knight. they should show all the new villians that flooded over the years by showing arkam with top villians like mr freze clayface joker and whoever else locked away in maxium security and two face should be locked away secretly ras ah gul should return in recarnation or his daughter and will be tiped by some one in DA that harvey dent is still alive and he is actualy the one who killed the people batman was acused of killing making harvey dent twoface and that he is secretly kept in arkam(this person could be the riddler they can just show some one working in the da in a green suit with like question marks on his tie or suspenders or something) will bust him out to show the word twoface
the wayne mansion should be fully rebuilt with a full batcave and a new batmobile

  13. ANDREW SOSA Says:

i also think that jim carrey should play the riddler since he had experince aready he did good in 23 and he is a good actor

  14. Mason Greer Says:

I think the idea of bane is a good idea. I say he sets all the villians free in gotham including the joker (who should now be played by matthew McConaughey) and they all team up to tearorise the town. The two face is still alive after waking up from his comma and escapes from the hospital. Some where through the movie he kills the parents of Dick Gracen, there for creating the seek for revenge in Robin. Bruce Wayne takes him in only thinking that his stay will be temporary but at the end of the movie Dick finds out that bruce wayne is infact batman and demands he teach him his ways so he can take revenge. Batman agrees knowing that he can no longer trust on harvey dent to take his place as a great leader and hopes that training robin will. I think Bane should be that big convict in the dark knight that through the detinator to blow up the other boat out of the window (what do you think about that) I also think that the riddler needs to make his way in. Maybe he should be one of the jokers men in the dark knight. When he was put to jail he went insane and started writing these desturbing letters to batman all around his cell. When he was released by bane he started playing games with batman a riddle that would give batman the jokers true identity. some thing only the riddler knows

  15. I think that Jim Carey is too silly and cartoonish. This series of batman movies are serious and not cartoony like the other older ones. I don’t think the joker should come back because no one can replace Heath Ledger playing the joker. Plus I also think that two-face should come back because he did not play the part very long in the movie.

  16. Kyle Congdon Says:

I personally believe, don’t use villians that have been used before. The early films were too overdone & put way to much of a backstory on the villians.I say use villians like Man-Bat or Killer Croc.Don’t bring in The Riddler or Mr.Freeze.Can’t do the Joker because Heath is dead & you can’t do it without him.I say use Adam West for a main villian like Man-Bat so we can have like a past & present Batman thing.Don’t bother using Robin because it’s still a young Batman. But if needed make sure it’s a Jason Todd type Robin because,no one wants Dick Grayson as Robin. If the Joker is needed, use Jack again,so he can get his career back up & running.A title,Batman:Triumphant

  17. mr reese as robin…i highly doubt it. Chris and his brother has been sticking very well to certain books. like year one and Long Halloween. I think the next one is gonna be more off of Dark Victory. its the introduction of Catwomen secret story the return of two face finishing off the mob. I highly suggest reading these books cause they really show intel on what the Nolans are looking at

  18. Tyler Durden Says:

    An idea:

At the end of the Dark Knight, we see the police chase Batman. I think Gordon stays by and notices that Harvey Dent is not dead, just badly injured. Knowing that Harvey can’t be seen the way he is, Gordon and the rest of the police take him in and never tell anyone. (And they have the funeral, seen in the Dark Knight) Here’s where the Riddler comes in. I don’t know how they’d do this, but somehow the Riddler knows that Harvey is alive and being held captive. He informs Gotham Police by writing a letter to them that is written for Harvey Dent. Meanwhile, the Police is already after Batman. After Gordon hears about the letter, he is forced to secretly team with Batman to figure out who this guy is before he goes public. The Riddler continues to write letters, telling the Police to meet him places, only to set up traps and so on. He is allied with the Mob, because he assures them that Dent is alive and promises them that they will get their revenge if they can help break him out of jail. They successfully do so, and now Dent is in the public spotlight proclaiming that the Police and Gordon tortured him (burned his face). Now Gotham City is in total chaos and not only against Batman, but now against what they think is a corrupt Police unit. The Riddler and Dent have the Mayor killed and blame it on the Police and Batman. And Dent takes over as Mayor. So now its basically Gotham City, The Riddler and Dent vs Batman and Gordon
